MEILING LIANG
When I look back at the years that passed, childhood included, the idea of making films was long ago sowed in my heart. When I was a primary school kid, TV was rarely accessible in my hometown. Us kids often leaned against the fences of rich households to peep at shows that were being played on their antique TV sets. One of the shows, as I can recall, was a British documentary about the animal world, which left me with quite the deep impression. I told myself, what if I record my life or interesting people from my hometown in such a way, wouldn't it be meaningful and fun? That's the moment when I found much joy in life, and that's also the moment when I began to grow a passion for motion pictures.
